Thomas Gibson Bio/Wiki 2017

American celebrity, Thomas Ellis Gibson, has an estimated net worth of $5 million with salary of $120 thousand per episode of Criminal Minds. Versatile together with tall, dark, and fine, Thomas Gibson has moved easily between TV stardom and a diverse movie career working with some of the industry’s leading names. Born July 3, 1962 in Charleston, South Carolina, Gibson found his calling as a child, making his acting debut at age ten in children’s theatre productions. Though he attended the College of Charleston, Gibson relocated when he won a scholarship to nyc ‘s prestigious Juilliard School. After earning his B.F.A., Gibson made his professional New York theatre debut in 1985. Gibson spent the rest of the 1980s doing theatre, in addition to branching out into television with two seasons on the daytime drama Another World along with the TV movie Gore Vidal’s Lincoln (1988).

Gibson made the transition to movies in style using a co-starring role opposite Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Ron Howard’s polished Irish-American epic Far and Away (1992). Gibson subsequently appeared several television shows and movies. Gibson continued to balance Hollywood with outside projects during his hiatuses using a tiny part in the ill fated sequel The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, a starring role in Arcand’s celebrity culture satire Stardom, as well as a supporting turn as the clever surfer Kanaka in the campy ’60s teen film parody Psycho Beach Party. Gibson is married and has one son.

He’s famous for his roles as Daniel Nyland in the Medical drama series Chicago Hope, as Greg Montgomery in the comedy series Dharma & Greg, and as Supervisory Special Agent Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner, the Unit Chief of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team in the highly-popular CBS play, Criminal Minds.

Quotes

#Quote
1[on being canned from the television show Criminal Minds after 12 years on August 12, 2016, for multiple assaults on the production staff] I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last twelve years. I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won't be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have.
2Charleston is an amazing place. I probably didn't appreciate it enough when I was growing up.
3People think that human beings have gotten worse, that because of the pressures that modern society puts on us, we've gotten worse, and we've gotten capable of doing more terrible things. I don't know if I necessarily think that that's true.
4I work in show business - there's nothing that shocks me anymore!
5When I was in New York, I took my bike everywhere for transportation. I didn't have a fixed-gear bicycle, like a lot of the messengers do, but I had a stripped-down deal - having lost a few good ones in New York - and I did 10 to 15 miles a day just getting around the city.
6I've had probably way too many acting classes, and you try to sort of shed - I think over a period of time, you'll shed what doesn't stick with you, and you'll hang onto those things that do.
7You can't substitute the act of making people laugh. It's definitely something that actors like to do.
8When I'm home, I've got the kind of time that other dads who live there full time don't have. I can go and have lunch with my kids at school and that sort of thing.
9One of the things that I'd like to get back to that I did as a younger actor was to work on, you know, a rep season for a summer where you did two or three Shakespeares, and you'd do a couple of either new plays or classic plays, and you did a different one almost every night.
10You know, it's nice on a sitcom to have an audience there, but there's still a wall of cameras between you and them.
11In a way, as an actor, you do all the preparation and then you want to forget it and just play the scene. As a director, you can't forget it because somebody will remind you that you forgot something. But you can know your plan well enough that you still have a certain amount of freedom.
12Summer I was 13, my grandfather and my father taught me how to play golf. I took lessons that summer, and I played every day that summer. I probably would've kept playing, except I realized that girls don't watch golf; they watch tennis. So I let my golf game go dormant and started playing tennis.
13I work out religiously. It's great for my back. It's great for my core. I've been exposed to lots of exercise regimens and movement classes as an actor, so I understand the importance of stretching and staying limber, but Pilates is what's really spoken to me. It works everything out.
14When my sister and I were kids, swimming down in Charleston, there was this pizza parlor that had this old Dixieland band play, and I just loved Louis Armstrong and the sound of his voice, and I got up there with the band and started singing Louis Armstrong songs when I was a kid. I have no idea why, but I did it and I loved it.
15Charleston has something for everyone, rain or shine. Its architecture is unparalleled. Carriage rides are great for seeing the city and hearing the history behind certain houses and the area.
16There's nothing better for kids than a bucket and shovel at the beach. I grew up across the marsh from The Citadel. We loved buying chicken necks at the Piggly Wiggly, tying them to a string on a stick and catching blue crabs.
